Fair Trade Policy

Reading & Silchester Methodist Circuit endorses the principle of fair trade. The Circuit is also aware that Reading wishes to obtain Fairtrade Town status, but to do so it must meet certain criteria, including the requirement for a minimum number of businesses or establishments, including churches, to be using Fairtrade products.

The Reading & Silchester Methodist Circuit has agreed to support the Fairtrade Town initiative and therefore urges the use of Fairtrade products by all of its Churches.

We request organisations using the church premises to consider using Fairtrade products as far as possible, particularly when serving refreshments.

A growing number of fairly traded products are available and can be easily identified by the Fairtrade Mark.
